•The diabetes best practices pages on the National Diabetes Program Site include information about 16 topics. You can download a short or a long version.
• The Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention Program, at the Hansen's Disease Center in Louisiana. The LEAP program offers free equipment and videos, as well as information.
• The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse has the latest information on diabetes statistics, resources, treatments and clinical trials.
• Take Charge of Your Diabetes, an excellent CDC publication, initially a book, is now available online in Acrobat Reader (pdf) format. Highly recommended. (The CDC server is sometimes slow or hard to connect to. Keep trying.)
• The National Diabetes Education Program is an excellent resource for diabetes education.
• The IHS Kidney Disease Program has many resources for chronic kidney disease.
• The American Association of Diabetes Educators site offers a page of continuing education listings, a product catalog with numerous useful publications and promotional materials, online meeting rooms and discussion forums, articles and abstracts, and more.
• News, bookstore, nutrition information and recipes, journals, research, and general diabetes information of interest to people with diabetes and those who care for them from the American Diabetes Association.
• The National Library of Medicine's Arctic Health site describes itself as an information portal to issues affecting the health and well-being of our planet's northernmost inhabitants.
• The Health and Human Services portal is an excellent starting point for reliable information on a wide variety of health topics and health-related organizations.
