Your ANMC team

Medical staff
The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are a patient in the hospital. Please talk with your physician, as coordinator for your treatment programs, if you have any questions about your illness.

Case managers
ANMC Case Managers are advocates for the patient and family. They link the patient to providers and the community. They coordinate necessary tests and procedures, ensure appropriate follow-up care and assist with travel and housing arrangements. They may talk with you and family members about health care issues. They may refer you to community resources such as social services, alternate health resources and support groups. Please feel free to talk with them about questions or concerns you have about services and care available outside the hospital.

Nursing staff
Twenty-four hour nursing care is provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nurse assistants. A nurse manager is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit. Please feel free to contact your nurse or nurse manger if you have any questions or concerns.

Inpatient pharmacy services
Pharmacy services are available 24 hours a day. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians ensure the medications you are taking in the hospital are available when you need them. Pharmacists work with nurses, doctors and others caring for you to help you learn about your medications and to ensure they are being used safely and effectively. The Outpatient Pharmacy services are located in ANMC and in the Primary Care Center buildings.

Social workers
Social Workers serve each patient care area to help patients and family members deal with the social, emotional and resource issues related to illness, disability, and/or hospitalization. They can help families deal with and cope with the effects of long-term illness, disability, and rehabilitation. They also serve as part of the discharge planning team. To reach a social worker while you are in the hospital, dial extension 1770. For assistance in an out-patient setting, dial 729-1780.

Volunteer program
Volunteers and Auxiliary members contribute many hours of service to the hospital. They may read to children, hold babies, or visit patients. They also manage the Gift Shop, among other activities. If you have any questions about volunteer services and programs, including the Gift Shop, evening entertainment, or other volunteer activities, please call 729-1120.

Customer service representatives
Customer Service Representatives (CSR) work closely with staff, patients and their families to assist in areas of need. They visit inpatient areas daily. CSR’s offer assistance with directions and escort patients on campus.
